  • How to Get Your Prospects to Say YES Immediately!

    Tom ‘Big Al’ Schreiter, the globetrotting master trainer, says:

    Get your prospects to immediately accept and believe the good things you say.

    How?

    By changing the sequence of your words.

    Yes, it is that easy to place your information inside your prospects’ heads and have them believe instead of dis-believe.

    We all know how frustrating it is when our prospects don’t believe us. Here is your chance to change that forever.

    We will learn magic phrases and sentences that go immediately to the decision part of the prospects’ brains, and these phrases will pre-sell your prospects.

    Imagine what it would be like to have your prospects agreeing, nodding their heads, smiling, and in total rapport with you and your message.

    Start learning these magic phrases and sentences now, and put them to use within minutes of the workshop. You will be shocked and amazed at the new world awaiting you.

    If you are in the New York area or know someone who is,

    Join us April 9th at the Ripley-Grier Studios, 520 8th Avenue & 36th Street, in Manhattan.

    We’ll be starting at about 7:15pm and we’ll be in Studio 16F.

  • Yet ANOTHER Reason Why So Many Fail In Marketing

    Here’s a recent blog post from Seth Godin lending some insight into why marketing can be so difficult, for the professional as well as the initiate - aka the Network Marketer. Maybe we should try networking with ourselves?

    The link to the original post on Seth’s blog is below. Enjoy it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Conflicted
    Everything we do that’s important is the result of conflict. Not a conflict between us and the world–a conflict between us and ourselves.
    We want to eat another dessert but we want to be healthy and skinny as well. Who is we? Who is the self in self control, and who is being controlled?
    We want to stand up and make difference and we want to sit down and hide and be safe.
    We want to help others and we want to keep more for ourselves.
    It’s not a metaphor, it’s brain chemistry. We don’t have one mind, we have competing interests, all duking it out.
    This conflict, the conflict between I and me, is at the heart of being human. One side sells the other. Like all kinds of marketing, it’s far more effective if you know your audience. You will do a better job of telling a story (to yourself) if you understand who you are marketing to. In this case, I is marketing to me (and vice versa). The marketing is going on in your head…
    Successful people have discovered how to be better at self marketing.
    How To Thumb Your Nose At The Tax Man
    The ‘Thought of the Day’ from one of my inbox newsletters was this:
    “People try to live within their income so they can afford to pay taxes to a government that can’t live within its income.” ~ Robert Half
    SMACK! Right between the eyes!
    But having to feed that dependent child, aka the Government, doesn’t upset me as much as it used to. Why? Because I have a simple way of generating some extra money.
    So now that you have to keep feeding that OTHER dependent child, aka the Government, you might consider another means of income so you don’t have to sacrifice your quality of life.
    A second means of income that doesn’t radically alter your lifestyle. One that doesn’t ask you to learn drastically new skills but rather uses the ones you already have. One that doesn’t require new modes of behavior, just expands on what you’re comfortable doing right now.
    And the answer is Network Marketing, aka the Recommending Business.
    You see, when you like a new restaurant or movie or healthcare product, don’t you unhesitatingly and enthusiastically want to tell those you know about them? Well, that’s what Network Marketing is – A recommending business. Only when you’re doing it with a business relationship YOU’RE GETTING A EXTRA PAYCHECK!
    If the idea tickles you even the slightest bit, you may want to take a look at this 7-minute video that explains the power of this model.
    And if you have a question or two, send me an email at tony@ajlauria.com.
  • 3 Ways The Government Screwing Up The Economy Is Doing You A Favor
    The more they try to fix it, the more broken it becomes it seems
    Bail outs and stimulus plans sure haven’t done the trick. Unemployment is still way too high – even if they don’t count all the people who have given up trying to find a job.
    So how does this benefit you?
    Three ways, as I promised:
    1. You are now paying attention. Sorry, but it is true. We human beings take way too much for granted and trust way too many who don’t deserve it. Honestly, how many of you understand what printed US dollars really are? (Clue, they do not represent wealth, but rather debt.)
    2. You are slowly but painfully learning that the government is unable to take care of you from cradle to grave. Yes, I know, another rude and difficult awakening. But just look at Greece. And Spain, Ireland, Italy and Portugal. The system that so many have praised in Europe cannot sustain a population that stops producing. Even 9 year-old Susie, running her lemonade business in those Verizon commercials, knows that.
    3. Time to take matters into your own hands. Ever wonder what it would be like to never have to ask a boss for a raise, and to determine your own income by the size of your own individual effort with no supervisor looking over your shoulder and filing evaluations of you and your work?
    Many around the world have discovered that they can flip the bird to the boss and Big Economic Brother by starting their own network marketing business. The benefits are enormous:
    • Control your life, your hours, your commute
    • Determine the size of your paycheck
    • Take tax breaks you can’t enjoy now (be sure to consult an advisor who knows this industry)
    • Use and share good products
    • Create life-long relationships
    • Live anywhere in the world once you’ve gained full independence
    You can get your hands on a free report that lets you in on many of the secrets kept from us by those with an interest in our ignorance.
    Flip them the bird and download now.
  • MLM Tip from ‘Big Al’: 5 of the Lowest-Pressure Closes Any Network Marketer Could Use
    1. “And that’s it.”
    2. “And the rest is up to you.”
    3. “Well, what do you think?’
    4. “What would you like to do now?”
    How’s that for low pressure?
    And if you didn’t like those four low-pressure closes, here is another close that you can use with prospects:
    E. “What would you like me to do now?”
    When you use this last close at the end of your presentation, all of the stress and fears of rejection leave you, and the decision is now up to the prospect.
    Actually, the prospect now feels a bit of pressure to make a decision. The prospect must now decide to ask you to leave, or ask for more information, or say that he is ready to join, etc.
    But the neat thing is . . . the prospect has to make a decision. And, you can use this close to gracefully end your presentation.
    Yes, all are very low-pressure, because I always like to treat prospects as adults.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    As well as respect yourself.

  • MLM Tip from ‘Big Al’: When should you prospect for new distributors?

    Prospecting is like going on a diet.

    When would it be a good time to diet?

    One day a year?

    No, that would not be too successful. We may lose weight on the one day that we diet, but the other 364 days would cancel our one day of progress.

    One day a month?

    Again, our dieting is not consistent enough to be successful.

    One day a week?

    Better. But do you really think you can lose weight by dieting only one day of the week?

    Daily?

    That’s the key to success in dieting. Just a small effort on a daily schedule will create success in our diet.

    And that’s how leaders prospect. They do a little bit each day. Distributors think that leaders have some sort of secret trick that they perform to become successful. The truth is that leaders tend to be more consistent in their sponsoring efforts.

    What can we teach our new distributors so that they’ll have consistent results too?

    Teach them to make at least one contact each day. Maybe write a letter. Loan out a DVD. Mail a CD. Make a telephone call. Just talk to a prospect.

    It all adds up and soon they’ll have all the prospects they need for a successful network marketing business. No longer will they suffer from the stress of where to find the next good prospect. They’ll have plenty of prospects and their entire “positioning” changes from desperation to confidence.

    But what to say…that’s the biggest question and greatest stumbling block.

    Breaking the Ice…A 1-Minute Business Presentation…Your 2-Minute Story…Creating Word Pictures…

    And the list goes on.

    If this is a relationship business, isn’t it possible to have a relationship and STILL say the wrong thing? (Only those people who have been married or who have ever had a special someone are allowed to answer that last question!)

    Knowing what to say is at least 50% of the game. The rest is listening to the prospect.

    The weekly “Big Al” webinar series hosted by Bob & Anna Bassett continues – LIVE at 1pmET every Saturday, and archived online if you have to miss one.

    Interested? Go to http://www.MLMreadysetgo.info to register.

  • MLM Tip: Compensation Plans – Five Key Questions To Ask Yourself

    When analyzing an MLM compensation plan, there are five key questions to ask.

    1.  The 10k Question:

    “How many active people do I need in my downline to generate a walkaway residual income of $10000 per month?”

    This is a vital question for you to know how hard you (and your team!) will have to work to reach your financial goals.  The best compensation plan is the one that pays the most money for the least work.  That’s not lazy or greedy – that’s smart.

    We have found a huge range of answers to this question, all the way from a ridiculous high of 28000 to the industry average of about 2800, down to a very do-able 400.  The same way you would choose a higher wage for the same job, it makes sense to choose the lowest number of people possible for you to earn $10000 per month.

    2.  The Half K (Retention) Question:

    “If I bring $500 in revenue to my company every month, what will I get paid?”

    If you worked on straight commission and sold $500 worth of products or services, you’d expect to earn anywhere from 50% ($250) down to about 30% ($150).  If you had some leverage and could be paid on your colleagues’ sales too, you could accept 20%, or about $100 in commissions.  Every experienced commissioned salesperson we’ve spoken to agrees that this is reasonable.

    But what happens in network marketing?  When we were with Excel Communications, the answer to this question was NEGATIVE $100!  That meant it was costing us $100 per month to bring $500 in revenue to Excel.  There are still many MLM companies in operation today with this kind of business model.  Beware.

    In most companies we’ve analyzed, bringing $500 to the company will bring you zero in commissions.  In some, you’d be lucky to earn $20, or 4% commissions!  A modern streamlined company with low overhead will pay you between $85 and $125.  That’s the kind of commissions you should be looking for.

    We also call this the Retention Question, as your main aim should be to get a fair check into the hands of your new partners as quickly as possible.  No pay, no stay.

    3.  The Break Even Question:

    “How many customers like myself will I need to have my products paid for?”

    This is another retention question.  A terrible company will require 20 customers, and a poor company will require 10.  In a good company, you’ll need 5 customers like yourself, and in a generous, streamlined company, you’ll have your products paid for with just 3 customers like yourself.

    Most distributors regard their products as a business expense, and the sooner you have them making a profit, the happier they will be, and the longer they will stay with you.

    4.  The How Many Hoops Question:

    “Are there any hidden hoops I must jump through to qualify for my check?”

    Read the fine print.  All of it.  The charts and lines and circles always look good at the front of the room, but what matters is what you have to actually do to earn a dime.  We analyzed a company recently that required 24 (!) active (!) front line distributors in order for you to reach the top of the pay plan.  With attrition, that would probably mean having to personally sponsor over 200 people!

    Read ALL the fine print, and ask questions of your sponsor, upline, and rep support until you get answers that make sense.  It’s your future, and you deserve to know.

    5.  The Build or Recruit Question:

    “Will I be paid for working with my team, or must I constantly be recruiting to earn a check?”

    When Excel was going under in 2004, the leaders began to admit that 80% to 90% of their checks came from recruiting bonuses, NOT from residual.  That meant that their businesses had to constantly expand in order for them to maintain their income.  There are many companies that still use this business model, and that’s why we keep harping on it.

    Let’s forget the pyramid aspect for a moment and look at what this means to you.  If you must constantly recruit, you have no time to work with your team.  If there’s no money in team building and support, it won’t get done, and you will constantly be replacing distributors as they flounder and fail and flee.

    That’s how we spell A-T-T-R-I-T-I-O-N.

  • Paying For Virtual Pigs

    Last week on the FOX Business Station’s morning show Varney & Company, a peculiar business model was presented and then roundly criticized by most. It very vividly reminded me of the MLM model gone wrong and the human behavior common to both.

    One business analyst just “loves the model” that the online game called FARMVILLE is based on. Just go to Facebook and after enrolling you can pay real money to get the fullest experience of the game.

    Pay REAL money to buy VIRTUAL feed for your VIRTUAL cattle and VIRTUAL pigs that live in the VIRTUAL barn that you only VIRTUALLY have to upkeep. (Thank goodness for that task being virtual!)

    When challenged by the more level-headed and pragmatic host of the show Stuart Varney, the analyst responded, “What’s not to like? It’s a money maker! Don’t underestimate Americans’ need for escape – like when movies shot up in popularity.”

    Later in the show another commentator described and dismissed it as “selling distraction in a hard economy.”

    Distraction is one thing. Delusion another. Broken down to its barest bones here’s what I see going on:

    1. A vendor has made available the online illusion of owning a farm along with the necessary animals and chores that go along with such a real world enterprise.
    2. The owner pays REAL money for this virtual business and all it entails.
    3. The owner never has to get down and dirty with the beasties, or drive the necessary vehicles, etc. Just click away from the comfort of a keyboard.
    4. The costs are REAL, the rewards virtual, i.e., NOT REAL.
    5. Some make money, most lose money. (Hey, THAT’S not what MLM stand for!)

    Can’t begin to tell you how many people I have run across, asking for real help for a MLM business run very much as described above – virtual.

    Hard economy. Virtual business. Delusional satisfaction.

    Happy New Year.

    When the real world comes a’knocking on the door of your virtual reality and you need help, just ask. I and my team have real world solutions for any MLM – provided you don’t ask us to feed the pigs.

  • Why the Crèche Gives So Many the Creeps

    Well it is that time of year again when instead of practicing what the season is about, namely peace and good will towards all humankind, the antagonists are out in force.

    Of course you know the basics of this argument. But rather than rehash all the polemics on freedom of speech and separation of church and state, I would rather take up another angle to this issue. A metaphysical one on what I believe makes so many nervous when viewing the Nativity.

    Take a look and ask yourself what you see.

    What I see are people. Human beings adoring a newly born baby.

    My niece delivered a beautiful baby daughter a little over a year ago and every time I have been around her and the baby and the family, guess what? Everyone, including me, is going goo-goo over the baby.

    Yes, adoring her.

    Her beauty, her promise, her innocence, her helplessness, her need for love and protection and care. Adoring it all and real-izing our individual responsibility to her.

    The characters in the image above are human beings doing exactly the same but in a so-called religious depiction. But just exactly what makes it religious?

    There are only two major religions that venerate a once living human being: Buddhism and Christianity.

    The Buddha and the Christ. The Enlightened One and the Anointed One.

    The esoteric message of the Nativity is not simply the birth of a child some 2,000 years ago, but the birth of a new humanity – the real-ization of the divinity of each and every one of us.

    Sad to say, yet I believe that too many of us refuse to admit and embrace the living divinity among us that we encounter daily. Even in ourselves. It’s just too much work to have to deal with others – and ourselves – with so much respect.

    The Nativity makes so many nervous because it is too graphic a reminder of a gross collective neglect carried out planet-wide and across time.

    But give us time. A minority now living among us believes that the message of compassion and love for our fellows on the planet, a message first appearing some thousands of years ago, will enjoy its full real-ization some thousands of years in the future.

    We, now living, are simply charged with keeping that evolutionary possibility alive by practicing it to the best of our individual ability.

    It is that responsibility that gives too many the creeps when they gaze upon the scene of the Crèche.

     Merry Christmass.
