  • Rich or Poor, According to Rohn

“The philosophy of the rich versus the poor is this:
    The rich invest their money and spend what’s left;
the poor spend their money and invest what’s left.”

  • Wealth vs. Money

    Wealth is NOT necessarily money.

Wealth is a standard of living, it is how weal you are able to live.

Confusion of the two can cause extreme unhappiness.

  • Misunderstanding MONEY!

In answer to my post yesterday HOW DUMB CAN POLITICIANS GET! the answer is DUMBER. Much dumber.

Instead of backing out of the muck they created by criticizing Ann Romney, they waded deeper into it.

If you missed it here’s a quick recap. Hilary Rosen, a Democratic strategist, said that Mrs. Romney “Never worked a day in her life” in spite of the fact the woman has raised five sons, survived cancer and now suffers from Multiple Sclerosis.

How have her critics gone deeper into the goo you may ask.

By saying that she and her husband haven’t had the life experiences most Americans have faced.

And what is the rationale these critics suffer under and use to get away with this attack?

    Why, the Romneys have MONEY!

So, using this quite convoluted logic, when one  has MONEY! one has nothing that could ever pass for real life experience. Or struggles. Or heartbreak..

Because where there is MONEY!, there are never,  ever any real problems, are there?

Cancer? MS? So what? She has MONEY!

How utterly revealing. These numbskulls believe that MONEY! solves all problems; that with MONEY! nothing else really matters; that having lots of MONEY! makes one immune to the troubles, struggles and heartbreaks of life. And one could never have any worthwhile life experience on the way to actually creating all that wealth.

Is there a better example of money being misunderstood than what these fools are exhibiting?

Someone’s being swallowed up by their own vile mess.

    How to Fix YOUR Economy

Let’s be honest for a moment.

Your economy begins in YOUR home, regardless of what they are doing in Washington. Regardless of the outcome of the election this November.

I mean historically, does the government instill confidence in you to fix the economy? Or to fix ANYTHING?

Let the Dimwits and the Repulsives squabble over THE economy. We, you and I, should be concerned with OUR OWN economies respectively. Because we know what we can do.

The simplest and least costly way to get a handle on this is to get paid for something you are already doing. In fact, it is something you’ve been doing since you were 5 or 6 years old.

    What’s that?

    Recommending.

Referring people to products or services that you use and enjoy and feel good about.

As I said you did it when you loved a new breakfast cereal and a new TV serial. You do it when you find a great restaurant and when you come across a magical, awesome, fabulous book or movie.

You just never got paid for doing it before.

    Want to change that?

    Check out this brief video.

How To Thumb Your Nose At The Tax Man

The ‘Thought of the Day’ from one of my inbox newsletters was this:

“People try to live within their income so they can afford to pay taxes to a government that can’t live within its income.” ~ Robert Half

    SMACK! Right between the eyes!

But having to feed that dependent child, aka the Government, doesn’t upset me as much as it used to. Why? Because I have a simple way of generating some extra money.

So now that you have to keep feeding that OTHER dependent child, aka the Government, you might consider another means of income so you don’t have to sacrifice your quality of life.

A second means of income that doesn’t radically alter your lifestyle. One that doesn’t ask you to learn drastically new skills but rather uses the ones you already have. One that doesn’t require new modes of behavior, just expands on what you’re comfortable doing right now.

And the answer is Network Marketing, aka the Recommending Business.

You see, when you like a new restaurant or movie or healthcare product, don’t you unhesitatingly and enthusiastically want to tell those you know about them? Well, that’s what Network Marketing is – A recommending business. Only when you’re doing it with a business relationship YOU’RE GETTING A EXTRA PAYCHECK!

If the idea tickles you even the slightest bit, you may want to take a look at this 7-minute video that explains the power of this model.

    Building Wealth With Network Marketing

To have health is to be or live healed. To have wealth is to be or live well.

Doug Casey is a man who knows a thing or two about wealth and he was recently quoted in Dr. Steve Sjuggerud’s newsletter DailyWealth Premium.

There are some radical thoughts there but as Doug writes, “these ideas weren’t radical 200 years ago… But they are considered radical now. That’s why it’s important to keep them in mind. In the financial crisis I see coming, the right ideas might mean your life.”

From that newsletter I would like to share some points from both Doug and Steve.

    First Doug:

    1.      “First, recognize that wealth is a high moral good.

Don’t feel guilty about having it or about wanting more. I do believe that productive people – people who work hard to provide goods and services for others – definitely tend to be wealthier than unproductive people. They deserve to be. And since we don’t live in a malevolent universe, people generally get what they deserve. So, yes, wealth is definitely one indicator of moral excellence.”

    2.      “Second, figure out your purpose in having money.

Sure, money makes life easier. And it’s nice how it enables you to assist people you like with material things. But I strongly suggest that you not take too short a view on this matter.”

    3.      Steve Sjuggerud enumerates Doug’s 3-step plan to building wealth. As the focus of this blog is wealth and Network Marketing, please pay special attention to these three steps and see if what I have boldfaced below doesn’t make the case for Network Marketing.

“Step 1: Liquidate. Chances are high that you have too much “stuff.” That stuff is costing you money in storage cost, in depreciation and in the weight of psychological baggage. It’s weighing you down. Get rid of it.

“Step 2: Consolidate. Take stock of your assets. After Step 1, that should be a lot easier.

“Your main asset is knowledge, skills and connections you possess. Take stock of them. What do you know? What can you do? Whom do you know? Make lists and think about these things, with an eye to maximizing their value.

“Step3 is the most important… the ability to create. Working for yourself is the easiest way to create.
“Think like an entrepreneur at all times. Remember that there is an infinite desire for goods and services on the part of the 6 billion other people on the planet. Find out how you can give them what they want, and the money will roll in.”

If you are thinking of getting started in a home-based business but don’t know what to do first, download this free report and start creating some wealth.

The ‘All-Seeing’ MLM Policy & Procedure

As an MLM mentor I assist struggling Network Marketers. Among the help I am able to provide is the deciphering of their Policy & Procedure documents.

A P&P, as it is known, is the actual contract a networker has with the company he or she has chosen. Regrettably there are a number of clauses to be watchful for, all designed for one purpose: to “legally” steal the rep’s paycheck.

This morning as I was sitting before my computer reading the P&P document for someone’s network marketing company, I got the distinct vision of the Eye of Sauron atop the tower of Barad-Dur in Mordor from the Lord of the Rings.

Crazy I know but pretty damn accurate. Most P&Ps are benign to most reps for one reason only: 98% of all reps fail, meaning if they generate any income at all for themselves it would not be enough to draw the attention of the company’s CEO and top-earners.

Much like the Hobbits who did not typically draw the attention of Sauron’s eye, most reps are too small! Assumed to be of no significance, sponsoring on average only 2.7 new distributors for the company, they are essentially left to be what they are: consumers of the products/services. It is further assumed that they will not ever seriously challenge the vast wealth accumulated by the ownership.

And as long as they stay small, most of the P&P clauses will have little to no effect on them and they won’t have any real serious problems. As a former VP once said, “Let them protest all they want as long as they pay their taxes.” Similar attitude.

However, the closer you get to the big money, that is the bigger your check becomes, the more attention you will attract.

Just as the One Ring grew heavier the closer it travelled to Mordor and consequently drew more of Sauron’s attention, so will you draw attention the more they will have to pay you.

Then your Sauron-like CEO will look to invoke clauses in your P&P (contract) that will facilitate the appropriation of your check.

What to do? Here are some choices:

    1. Keep a low profile, be sure your check doesn’t grow and so escape notice. But is that why you joined your company?
    2. Learn what is in your P&P. Knowing where the traps are, you might be able to avoid notice and stay at a safe distance. But is such a limitation what you want?
    3. Pardon the corn but you could ask for help from a Fellowship of Networkers. We at MentoringForFree would be honored to assist you and show you how to protect yourself and your paycheck from the spying gaze and long greedy grasp of your CEO’s evil insatiable greed.

  • Think It’s A Pyramid?

The video below has been around for a while – over 347,000 views – but it is so funny it stills makes me laugh out loud.

Just as interesting was a comment equating capitalism with being a pyramid scheme. And suggesting that the solution is socialism.  The shame of it is that many people believe capitalism to be so, not understanding that what they criticize is NOT capitalism but criminal behavior.

Here are the main points of the comment thread as of today.

    • capitalism is a pyramid scheme. solution = socialism.
    • what you’re describing isn’t capitalism, it is criminal behavior. the problem is that in the common imagination rich = dishonest and so the cry becomes ‘kill the rich’ or the excuse becomes ‘we’re poor but we’re honest’
    • you have yet to realise that capitalism is criminal behaviour, but has gone on as the norm for so long that it isn’t looked on as such any more. if you honestly think that the top 1% in the world works harder than the bottom 80% living in poverty, have fun in your land of delusion.
    • michael, you have a bad habit of not knowing how to argue a point. for example, where did you get the idea that I ever entertained such numbers? And you suggest that I live in a land of delusion? You entertain the misguided idea that all rich people are dishonest. Let me guess, you believe money is dirty and you don’t have much of it. What a surprise!

People fail in business as well as in life because they create themselves as obstacles, mainly by holding false and injurious beliefs. This accomplishes nothing except the thwarting of their plans. And the fulfillmentof their predictions of doom.

Then they can claim they are “poor but honest”.

  • And You Thought MLM Was About Sales!

Many a pitched verbal battle was fought between me and the nitwits perched like vultures in a dead tree over at Better Networker (They never DID reveal Better for whom!)

The topic was this: MLM is not a sales business but a relationship business primarily.

Sure sales must happen or there’s no revenue and then no paychecks for us distributors. But if you approach your business with a traditional sales skill set, you may get a quick hit of cash but you WON’T build a business designed to keep paying you long into the future.

So all that schreeching I got from those vultures at Better Networker revealed their philosophy and intent after all.

‘Build It Once and Build It To Last’ has to be built on solid relationships. I got that from Michael Dlouhy and Richard Dennis in the book Success In 10 Steps that has changed the lives of thousands of MLMers.  Yours is free with no obligation and waiting for you at http://ajlauria.bigmlmsecrets.com

Just to flesh out the point here’s Randy Gage’s latest blog entry. You’d better sharpen those ‘People Skills’ of yours if you want to retire on your MLM check!

    Enjoy it:

    The Real Skills You Need

    By Randy Gage

    July 23rd, 2011

As I do my training, the most requested topic is always recruiting.  But that is not the most important skill set you need for success in Network Marketing.

The most important thing is people skills.

Your biggest issues won’t be product related, your comp plan, or the marketing materials.  It won’t even be product recalls, back orders or negative publicity.

It will be ego clashes, marriage problems, communication misunderstandings, and out of check egos.  It will be discord between relationships between you and your team, or between your leaders and their teams.

So make sure you make working on these skills a big part of your self-development program.  Books like Dale Carnegie, The Five Love Languages, keeping your ego in check, and being willing to apologize will do more to grow your group than just about anything else.

People come into our business with all sorts of baggage.  Most have never been in business for themselves.  Many have never had leadership positions.  So there’s a lot to learn for both you and them.

Make a point to get better at this and it will really make a difference for you.
